Progress Evenings and Reports

We believe that strong communication between school and home is essential.

Throughout the year, we keep parents and carers informed about their child’s development through a combination of Progress Evenings and formal Progress Reports.

Year 7 Meet the Tutor Evening

Starting secondary school is an important milestone, and we recognise that families value reassurance during this transition. To support this, we hold a Year 7 Settling-In and Meet the Tutor Evening during the autumn term. This event offers parents and carers the opportunity to meet their child’s form tutor for a brief discussion about how they are adjusting to life in secondary school. You will also be able to see key areas your child uses regularly, such as their tutor room, the Library and the Forum.

Members of the Year 7 Team, Learning Support Team and Senior Leadership Team will be available to answer any questions. The emphasis of the evening is on how well students are settling in, rather than on detailed academic progress at this early stage.

Year 7 Meet the Tutor Evening will be held on Thursday 9 October 2025.

If you experience any difficulties accessing the system or arranging appointments, please contact the school office for assistance.

Progress Reports

Teachers continually assess students’ understanding and progress during lessons. In addition, there are two formal reporting points each year, when teachers review a range of assessment information, including classwork, homework and interim assessments to provide an overview of each student’s current performance.

These formal Progress Reports are shared with parents and carers twice yearly via Arbor.
